Re: Line Battle Rules Discussion

as the line is entirely formed up when reloading and standing still during the reload. Usually in the 29th we always handled it like the first charge of a round. As soon as you want to charge, it is okay to break formation. The line started to reload while in line (immediately after the last volley...

Re: Line Battle Rules Discussion

I would like to discuss two things. 1.) What happens in case of a server crash? Server crashes happen quite frequently during linebattles, especially when two lines fire volleys at each other at the exact same time. People that know a bit about the game mechanics have claimed that there is bullet co...

Re: Linebattle Cup Discussion

I'd say that is largely dependant on the other clans but the 29th. We have quite strong numbers (compared to the last thousand months) at the moment and if we can play the matches saturday or sunday nights we'll be ready to go as soon as the last questions regarding the rules are sorted out.

Re: Line Battle Rules Discussion

Unas, I myself provided the arguments and counterarguments for the commander shooting question. The last I remember is you and others proposing an idea and giving arguments for it and then me giving the appropriate counterarguments (from my point of view appropriate anyways). Then we left the topic...

Re: Line Battle Rules Discussion

Ok, continuing from the other topic: @Jessie: I said I am not upset. I said some of my guys are upset and what I mean by that is they went like 'omg if they really wanna do this we can try but unless my views get changed by pretty much 180° on that topic after we tried it, I don't want to play in th...

Re: Linebattle Cup Discussion

I am not upset. Some members of my clan (even though most of those have refrained from posting in this topic) are. And its quite easy to tell why. and it also doesn't lower the skill ceiling if anything it increases it cause everyone needs to know what to do if a commander gets shot and everyone nee...

Re: Linebattle Cup Discussion

'Clinging to the rules' is not a fair summary of what the 29th is doing. Its just that some of these rules are the very fundamentals of linebattling. BG2 as opposed to other games does not offer much room to change stuff for the better. That means, if you want to change the rules and we don't like t...

Re: Linebattle Cup Discussion

I'm not much of a Linebattler I will admit but what exactly should we do if someone shoots a commander? Do they forfeit the round? Seems a touch unfair given how long range fire or a moving line could randomly lead to a commander death, which then gives you a free round or a restart to the round. A...

Re: Linebattle Cup Discussion

The question is not whether it is worth it to shoot for the commander. That is very situational, and against a moving line (where it also is worst for a line to lose the commander) it definitely is in most cases. The question is whether we should allow it. And I strongly suggest that we shouldnt, as...

Re: Linebattle Cup Discussion

The commander killing I think was just a convenient example of rule violations. Personally, I dont have a huge issue with commander killing. The shooting mechanics in this game mean that it can happen in many scenarios that the commander gets wounded. Great distance shooting, small lines, bullet spr...
